Dear Family and Friends,

As you may have heard or read yesterday, Governor Abbott announced the exciting news for expansion of visitation for nursing and assisted living facilities for COVID-negative residents. We know it has been six months or more since many of you have been able to sit in the same room with your loved one, and we truly appreciate the patience and kindness you’ve shown as we’ve all anxiously awaited governing authorities to reopen facilities to visitation.

That said, Texas Health and Human Services Commission has since issued numerous rules for visitation with more details and guidelines still to come. We are diligently reviewing these stringent requirements and will communicate with you when we have all systems in compliance so we can begin taking reservations for visits.

The guidelines issued have numerous criteria including training employees and residents’ essential caregivers on PPE and infection control. We ask again for your patience as we train and educate everyone on the proper and safe way to conduct these visits.

Visit https://hhs.texas.gov/sites/default/files/documents/services/health/coronavirus-covid-19/reopening-visitation-ltc-facilities.pdf or email Administrator Alvina Conte at AConte@paramounthc.com with questions.

More information from us is forthcoming in the upcoming week. We will provide details on the proper procedure to register for training and scheduling visits. Our goal is and continues to be to keep your loved ones safe as we work to implement and establish this new visitation policy. Again, thanks in advance for your continued understanding and thank you for choosing us to care for your loved ones. We can’t wait to see you!

We are happy to report one resident who initially tested positive for COVID-19 has been deemed recovered. To recap recent events, we currently have two residents and two employees who are COVID-19 positive. Positive employees will not return to work until deemed recovered.

Our facility is under complete quarantine with only essential medical personnel permitted inside. We continue to follow the Centers for Disease Control, Local Health Department, and Texas Health and Human Services guidance in medically assessing and examining employees at the beginning and end of each shift. We are diligently monitoring and assessing residents and employees, following the disinfecting and housekeeping protocols, adhering to social distancing guidelines, and numerous other preventative measures. Residents have been assigned representatives to aid with communication to family members via Smartphones, tablets, and computers to help minimize feelings of social isolation.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends who have lost loved ones due to COVID-19. As our nation and the world experience the impact made by the Coronavirus pandemic, rest assured we have implemented the best available precautions and have the appropriate supplies needed to care for your loved one. If you have questions or comments, please contact Administrator Alvina Conte at AConte@paramounthc.com. Please check back to our web site for further updates.
